How You Will Be Assessed

Assessment takes place throughout your Level 4 Advanced Aesthetics pathway and is designed to ensure you can demonstrate the advanced knowledge, professional judgement and practical competence required for each qualification.

Theory, Workbooks & Portfolio Evidence

You will complete online theory learning alongside the required qualification workbooks and portfolio evidence.

At Level 4, you will be expected to demonstrate a deeper understanding of areas including:

Summative Assessment

Entry Requirements

Our Level 4 Advanced Aesthetics pathway is designed for learners who already have an appropriate foundation in beauty therapy, skin and aesthetic practice and are ready to progress to advanced Level 4 treatments.

Learners must meet the relevant entry requirements for the individual Focus Awards qualification(s) they wish to complete.

Suitable entry routes may include relevant Level 3 beauty, facial, skincare or aesthetic qualifications, including our:

• Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualifications
• Other relevant recognised Level 3 qualifications

If you have completed your previous training with another provider, we will review your existing qualifications before enrolment to ensure you meet the appropriate entry requirements for your chosen Level 4 programme.

New to Aesthetics?

If you do not currently hold an appropriate Level 3 qualification, our Level 3 Pathway to Aesthetics provides a progression route into our Level 4 Advanced Aesthetics training.

Learners can also choose to enhance their Level 3 programme with our Facial Electrotherapy qualification before progressing further.

Certification & Progression

Your Level 4 Qualifications

Learners completing our Level 4 Advanced Aesthetics pathway will work towards the individual Focus Awards regulated Level 4 qualifications included within their chosen programme.

Depending on the pathway selected, this may include qualifications in:

Learners completing Dermaplaning will also develop the underpinning Level 4 knowledge in Facial Anatomy & Physiology and Investigative Consultation & Advanced Skin Assessment included within the programme.

Each qualification is assessed against its own learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

Once all required theory, practical training, assessments and portfolio evidence have been successfully completed and the relevant quality assurance requirements have been met, certification will be claimed through Focus Awards.

Develop your Level 4 knowledge of facial anatomy and physiology, investigative consultation and advanced skin assessment alongside professional dermaplaning techniques.

Stage 2 – Chemical Skin Peels
Progress into advanced chemical skin peeling, developing your ability to assess client suitability, select appropriate treatments and safely perform professional peel protocols.

Stage 3 – Skin Needling

Throughout your programme, you will complete your online theory, qualification workbooks, independent study and portfolio evidence alongside your scheduled practical training.
